Real sounds that drive the drummer
No compromise has been made in recording the sound of the instruments themselves. DTX-PRO sounds have been fine-tuned to naturally follow the drummer’s performance and allow for maximum expression.

The acoustic drum sounds built into the DTX-PRO are all real sounds recorded in some of the best recording studios in the world. As well as recording the direct drum sounds, the unique natural room ambience of the studios where they were recorded was also sampled.

Performances by leading Yamaha drums artists were recorded and mixed by a team of recording engineers to give the final instrument samples. The project sound director specified exacting recording techniques to capture the full detailed sound of each drum and cymbal.
The drum pads have been carefully matched to the DTX-PRO Module to offer excellent expressive capabilities.

Intuitive functionality that stirs creativity
The Kit Modifier featured on the DTX-PRO offers drummers limitless possibilities for their creativity.

The KIT MODIFIERs condense Yamaha’s sound creation know-how into three knobs: AMBIENCE, COMPRESSION, and EFFECT.
The AMBIENCE knob controls natural ambience and reverb. From 0–50% it adjusts real recorded ambience; above 50% it adds high-quality digital reverb.

The COMP and EFFECT knobs use Yamaha’s “1-knob” control technology. COMP applies compression to the whole kit, while EFFECT adjusts the internal effects processors.

The mesh pads use two-ply Remo heads with excellent noise reduction, durability, rebound and feel. The snare pad includes three sensors for precise response.

Superbly playable
Reproducing the way a drum behaves when struck is key to the playability of electronic drums. Yamaha studied drum behavior extensively and worked with professional drummers to refine the expressive capabilities of the DTX-PRO.

Same tone generator as the flagship series
The DTX8 Series features the DTX-PRO module, which uses the same sound engine as the flagship DTX-PROX. Selecting the correct trigger setting ensures optimal performance.
*The configuration screen is displayed upon initial startup.

Reliable Yamaha hardware
The DTX8 Series uses Yamaha drum hardware trusted by professionals worldwide. Ball clamps are used for toms, and boom-retractable cymbal holders allow straight or boom use. Snare and hi-hat stands are included.

An extensive range of training functions to support drummers
The DTX-PRO includes a programmable metronome, recorder, 10 training functions and 37 training songs covering various genres.
