Real sounds that drive the drummer
No compromise has been made in recording the sound of the instruments themselves. DTX-PROX sounds have been fine-tuned to naturally follow the drummer’s performance and allow for maximum expression.
The acoustic drum sounds built into the DTX-PROX are real recordings from world-class studios, including both direct sound and natural room ambience.

Performances by leading Yamaha artists were recorded and mixed by expert engineers to capture every detail from attack to decay. Pads are carefully matched to the module for excellent expressive capability.

Intuitive playability that inspires creativity
The Kit Modifier and LED rotary fader system on the DTX-PROX offer limitless creative possibilities.
The three KIT MODIFIER knobs—AMBIENCE, COMPRESSION and EFFECT—condense decades of Yamaha sound design expertise.

The seven LED rotary faders allow control of instrument parameters, with six presets and fourteen sub-presets. They can also control external devices and DAWs.

Yamaha TCS
Yamaha TCS (Textured Cellular Silicone) heads provide realistic hardness, rebound and stick feel. Their surface prevents stick sliding and maintains consistent feel over time. The snare includes hit point detection.

Superbly playable
Yamaha studied drum behavior extensively to reproduce authentic response. Professional drummers worldwide evaluated the DTX-PROX to refine its expressive capabilities.

Original TCS heads
TCS heads use silicone foam with air bubbles for firmness, rebound and reduced impact noise. A floating structure prevents vibration transfer, improving sensitivity and quietness.

Live Set function instantly recalls settings
The Live Set function allows instant recall of kits, tempos, audio files and click settings—ideal for live performance and streaming.

Connect to Bluetooth and record performances to USB memory
Bluetooth allows wireless playback from smart devices. USB memory can record Bluetooth, AUX, USB audio and your own drum performance.

Professional-grade headphone amp
The DTX-PROX includes a high-precision, low-noise, high-power headphone amplifier for immersive monitoring.

Connections for every possible application
Includes 8 individual outputs, dual AUX IN, multiple headphone outputs, and USB audio/MIDI connectivity.

An extensive range of training functions
